Center For Family Success Opens
in St. Johns
Portland, Or.The Children’s Justice Alliance and its agency partners announce the opening of a community resource facility in the St. John’s neighborhood, offering programs and services that address the needs of children of incarcerated parents, their parent, families and caregivers.
The Center for Family Success, located on 8010 SW Charleston, will offer basic transition services to the releasing parent, classes in parenting education, Adult Basic Education and GED, and a variety of self-sufficiency services, as well as address the needs of the children of incarcerated parents, their families and caregivers.
In cooperation with the Oregon Department of Corrections and Oregon Department of Human Services, as well as a number of other partner agencies, the Center for Family Success will act as hub for positive social and family activities for clients involved in the criminal justice system and their children. The Center creates opportunities for families to link to resources, experience coached parenting time,and enhance life skills.
The Children’s Justice Alliance is the organizing entity for a variety of partner programs that provide services for children of those involved in the criminal justice system and their families. In addition to coordinating comprehensive services for children and family members, CJA provides policy leadership, makes research-based programming recommendations, offers technical assistance and training for partners, and raises funds to provide financial support for services and research.
